Mrs. Rachel Doeden, RN, BSN
A little about myself:
I was born and raised in Cherokee. I now live on a farm outside of Cleghorn with my husband and 4 bonus kids. I went to Morningside College where I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in nursing. I have 8 years of pediatric nursing experience prior to coming to River Valley. Out of college I worked for 5 years on the Pediatric, Pediatric Intensive Care, and Neonatal Intensive Care units at St. Luke’s in Sioux City. After leaving St. Luke’s I did travel nursing contracts for 3 years taking me to Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas; Children’s of Minnesota in Minneapolis and St. Paul; and The University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City. I also did some substituting for the school nurses in Atlantic, Iowa on days off from the hospital. In my free time I enjoy going to concerts, boating, Iowa Hawkeye sports, and traveling!
My goal is to keep our students healthy, with as little interrupted class time as possible. If you ever have a questions or concern about your child’s health please don’t hesitate to call me at the school.
