 About Me:

I graduated in 2011 from Briar Cliff University as a Secondary Mathematics teacher with a Middle School Endorsement in Language Arts and Mathematics. I spent 2.5 years subbing in districts around the Siouxland area and a half year as a paraprofessional in the 5th/6th grade Resource Room at Dakota Valley Middle School before I accepted the position as a Jr./Sr. High Mathematics teacher with River Valley. This is my 4th year teaching here, and I am looking forward to this year just as much as my first year! I am excited to teach students that I haven't had yet as well as students I've had in the past. I also can't wait to attend the many different activities that the River Valley students participate in. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, cooking, baking, and spending time with my two cats.

Materials: It is the expectation that you will bring the following to class everyday.

1) Pencil

2) Homework

3) Notebook

4) Textbook (if applicable)

5) A Positive Attitude

3 tardies = 30 minute detention. Each tardy after 3 will result in an additional detention. Tardies reset at the beginning of each quarter.

If you get to class after the bell rings, you need to have a pass otherwise you will be counted tardy.

You need to find time to meet with Ms. Thomas to learn what you missed.

Homework will be assigned almost daily in order for students to practice the skills taught that day.

Late Work:

Each day an assignment is late 10% will be deducted from the assignment grade up to 50%. Examples: A homework assignment with a score of 87% but handed in 2 days late will receive a grade of 67%. A homework assignment with a score of 100% but handed in 6 days late will receive a grade of 50%.
