Teacher Spotlight - Mr. Ryan Brown

Nurturing dreams and showing students what is possible is Mr. Ryan Lee Brown.  He celebrates his birthday on July 29 and was born in 1973.  His family consists of his parents, Greg and Cheri Brown, brother, Shane Brown and nieces, Josie and Lily Brown.

He received his BA at Buena Vista University and MAE at Briar Cliff University.  He is in his 25th year of teaching.  He teaches Reading/Language Arts to the 8th - 12th grade students.  He believes his students would be amazed to find out that he is afraid of driving over bridges.

His favorite thing to do is, sometimes he just likes to be by himself.

Some of his favorites are:

  • The color navy blue or green because they are cool colors.
  • Food-he really doesn't have a favorite . . . he is not picky.
  • Book-he can't pick just one.
  • Movie-again . . . too many to single one out but "The Wizard of Oz" is an old favorite.

His greatest thing about teaching is that he likes that he can see academic and personal growth from middle school through high school.  Sometimes he has students every year for six years in his room!

Mr. Brown, thank you for all that you do!
