Homecoming 2020

River Valley's 2020 Homecoming theme is Lights, Camera, Action! Homecoming will be celebrated September 8-11. Dress-up days will be as follows: Tuesday-"Back to the Future" for Decades Day; Wednesday-"Jumanji" for Choose your Character Day; Thursday-"Remember the Wolverines" for Spirit Day; and Friday-"Harry Potter" for Class Color Day. 

High school students will be decorating their floats Thursday afternoon, so please come see their hard work at the parade which begins at 6 pm that evening. Parade line-up will start at 5 pm by the fire station and will end at the high school. The parade route will start at 4th and Cedar Streets proceeding east on 4th Street to Driftwood Street turning north and continuing north on Driftwood Street proceeding east on 9th Street and ending at 9th and Hackberry Streets at the high school. The High School Student Council is currently looking for entries into the parade, so feel free to bring your classic car, truck, or tractor to the line-up! Businesses and organizations are more than welcome to enter the parade as well! Contact Amanda Verzani at the high school if you are interested in joining the parade or show up Thursday night at the fire station. 

The boosters are providing a meal deal after the parade to enjoy before the community pep rally begins. Following the community pep rally at approximately 7:30 pm coronation will begin in the high school auditorium. Congratulations to 2020 Homecoming Court: Brody Lillefloren, son of Chris and Mandy Lillefloren; Carter Norris, son of Dean and Kim Norris; Devin Todd, son of Travis and Tara Todd; Tyler Towne, son of Terry and Mitzi Towne, Garrett Trapp, son of Kyle and Sheila Trapp; Danika DeWitt, daughter of Jamie and Bobbi DeWitt; Erin Frahm, daughter of Mike and Loretta Frahm; Kylie Kleespies, daughter of Andy and Ginger Kleespies and Stephanie Waring; Brittany Meyer, daughter of Linda Meyer; and Katrina Todd, daughter of Steve and Greta Todd. Don’t forget to check out the homecoming posters designed by high school grades in the front hallway either before or after coronation. Friday afternoon high school students will be participating in class games. 

Come to the game Friday night to support our football team as they take on Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire. Homecoming Royalty will make an appearance at half-time if you missed them during the parade. High school students are welcome to stay after the game to watch a movie.
