Nurse Spotlight - Mrs. Lori Baldwin

In this spotlight we will recognize Mrs. Lori Lyn Baldwin.  She celebrates her birthday on December 30th and was born in 1962.  Her family consists of her husband, Craig, son, Brock, who is 25 and son, Clay, who is 22.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Morningside College and Master of Arts in Education from the University of South Dakota.  She has been a nurse for 35 years.  She believes her students would be surprised to find out that she is a twin, her sister, Lisa, lives in Glendale, Arizona.

Her favorite thing to do for fun is she loves to quilt.  She makes quilts for family members (births, graduations, weddings etc.).  She makes prayer quilts for her church to give away.  She gives 2-3 quilts per year to military veterans (Quilts of Valor program).  She also makes quilts for charity organizations.

Some of her favorites are:

  • The color red.
  • Food is red licorice.
  • Book is "Elm Creek Quilt Series" by Jennifer Chiaverini.
  • Movie is "27 Dresses."
  • Song is "Believe" by Brooks and Dunn.
  • She likes to play golf, but likes to watch college basketball, college football and NFL football.
  • Sport teams are the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Her best thing about being a school nurse is she can interact with students and staff and offer suggestions to help them feel better and become more educated about their health condition.

Mrs. Baldwin, thank you for all that you do!
