Teacher Spotlight - Ms. Lisa Mitchell

In this spotlight we will recognize Ms. Lisa Mitchell.  She celebrates her birthday on May 29th.  Her family consists of her mom and dad, sister, Katie and her husband, John, nephew, Carson and nieces, MaKinlee and Gracelynn.  She does not have any pets but if she could she would have a dog.

She earned her teaching degree at Buena Visa University in Storm Lake and has been teaching 6 years at River Valley.  She teaches a little bit of everything to the TK and Kindergarten students.  She believes her students would be surprised to find out that she loves to take naps!

Her favorite thing to do for fun is craft with her Cricut or travel.

Some of her favorites are:

  • The neon colors because she likes the brightness!
  • Food is Mexican food.
  • Book is "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day" because even in Australia there are bad days!
  • Movie is "13 Going on 30."
  • Song is anything country.
  • Sport is playing golf and she likes to watch basketball.
  • Team is whatever team her nieces and nephew are playing on.

Her best thing about teaching is seeing the excitement in the children as they learn something new.

Ms. Mitchell, thank you for all that you do!
