Today at RV Elementary, some students were able to have "Pizza with the Principal." Our September Student's of the Month joined Mr. B in his office and enjoyed some pizza, chocolate milk, and dessert (cookie). They had some great conversation and watched a bit of TV too. It was a wonderful time with some students that are doing great things at RV Elementary!

The Junior Class is currently selling Krispy Kreme donuts for prom. A dozen glazed donuts is $14 and a dozen chocolate iced, lemon filled, raspberry filled, or kreme filled costs $16. Contact any junior to order. Orders and money are due Friday, October 25.
This week is Bus Safety Week and RV Elementary is using this week to emphasize the need to practice good bus safety. Mr. Knaack and Deputy Zane worked together to talk to the students about why it is important to be safe on and around a bus. Mr. Knaack reviewed the bus rules and Deputy Zane talked about many things including the need to stay in your seat and in a seatbelt. Then each classroom practiced how to evacuate a bus in the case of an emergency.
Classroom teachers also reinforced many of the topics with some classroom activities.

Varsity girls & boys will travel to Orange City on Thursday to compete in the State Qualify 2A meet.
Today RV's second grade took a trip to Hoeflings' Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze near Marcus, IA.
The students learned about a variety of pumpkins and gourds. They also learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin. The students were able to ride on a hayride through a spooky forest and twisted and turned through the corn maze. Additional, the students watched demonstrations on how to use an old fashioned corn shucking and drying machine.
It was a great day!
Yesterday, these students participated in the Dordt Math Challenge. They had to take an individual and team test. These tests have a lot difficult math questions!! The girls also attended a breakout session either learning how to solve some of these difficult math problems or learning about combinations. Great job yesterday ladies!!
The Junior High and High School cross country team finished a hard week off with some ice cream. Good luck to our WC-KP-RV team at their conference meet at Holstein on Saturday!
