Welcome Back Our Teachers!
Mrs. Skye Nicolls is beginning her 7th year with RV and is the Preschool Teacher. This summer she has been going for long walks with her dogs, cuddling her cats, reading and finishing her list of summer projects. She is looking forward to seeing her preschool family, having a schedule again, and seeing what new little personalities she will have in her room this year! Her advice to parents and students is as follows. Parents, get your kids into a routine and always ask about the fun their child had each day. Students, jump in and try new things with me. Let me know what you love!


Meet the Wildcat Night for Fall Sports at Woodbury Central
We are excited for our student athletes to have the opportunity to participate in the sport of Cross Country. Their first meet is next Thursday, August 29th at the SYA Sports Complex in Sioux City starting at 4:30pm.

Welcome Back Our Teachers!
Mrs. Brittni Forrer has been with RV for 8 years and is the Middle School and High School Physical Education Teacher (6th-12th Grade). She is also Head Cross Country Coach, Head Track and Field Coach. This summer she has been enjoying her time with her two little girls, Brynlee and Hallie. She has also been enjoying time together with her husband outside on the golf course. She looks forward the most to seeing how much each student has grown throughout the summer and looks forward to seeing those mile times in PE class! Mrs. Cindy Nehman is starting her 2nd year at RV. She is the 9-12 Resource Room Teacher. She spent the summer enjoying time with friends and family. They went to Okoboji and the Kansas City Chiefs training camp. She is looking forward to seeing the kids and her coworkers again! Mrs. Nehman will be at the Open House in Correctionville on Aug 22nd from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Angie Reinking is starting her 12th year at RV. She is our elementary PE Teacher and TAG Teacher. This summer she enjoyed a couple of trips to Nashville and Chicago! Spending her days with her boys definitely makes summer sweet! She is looking forward to seeing her co-workers and students! She says she works with wonderful staff that make the days at school so much fun! She can't wait to see the smiling faces and some good hugs from the students! Her advice for the school year is a consistent bedtime routine! Life gets crazy and busy, but keeping the kids on a good schedule definitely makes their days at school easier!

Mrs. Stephanie Simonsen is starting her 2nd year at RV. She is the MS Social Studies Teacher. This summer she enjoyed hiking the Black Elk Peak for the very first time! River Valley's Open House is set for this coming Thursday, August 22 from 6-8 PM. Preschoolers and their parents are more than welcome to come visit the elementary, see their new classroom, and visit with their new teacher. We hope to see you all there!

Mr. Ryan Brown will be starting his 21st year at RV this fall! He is the 8-12 Language Arts Teacher and is also the Speech Coach. In regard to his summer, he enjoys the slower pace of summer and doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants without a bell ringing in the background. He is looking forward to seeing students again, as well as staff. His advice in regard to the upcoming school year, please do your best and do things right the first time so you don't have to repeat yourself. The results will amaze you. Ms. Lisa Mitchell has been with RV for 10 years! She is our Special Education Teacher in the elementary building. She spent this summer traveling to Nashville and the Black Hills.
She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is looking forward to seeing the students and watching them grow. Ms. Chauntell Geary is beginning her 7th year at RV. She is our K-12 Counselor. She enjoyed her summer by spending time with my kids as well as good friends! At the beginning of the summer, her kids and her went to visit family in Colorado for a few weeks! Like every other year, Ms. Geary is looking forward to seeing all of her students faces! She loves hearing about their summers and their goals for this school year! Her advice for the upcoming school year is as follows. "Students- my advice to you would be come into this school year with an open mind ready to learn and be kind always for you never know what someone else is going through! Parents-- we are so excited to have the students back in the buildings and I cannot wait to collaborate with you to make it the best year yet! It takes a team! Mrs. Molly Henshaw has been with RV 4 years and teaches Science, STEM and TAG. She is also the Middle School Student Council Sponsor. This summer she has been doing all the things! Camping, gardening, hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking, and travelling (lots of travelling). She says coming back to school is like coming home after a long trip. Vacationing is great, but this time of year she really looks forward to reconnecting with her River Valley family. Her thoughts on the upcoming school year are this. The awesomeness level of this year will be determined by our attitudes. If we come back with super positive attitudes, this could be the best year yet!
