Thank you so much to the Chapter 5355 Department of the Dakotas Military Order of the Purple Heart for the donation of a brand new flag and flag pole at the elementary school. Our students were not only blessed with having a new flag pole, but also through the time and presentation from United States military veterans. We are thankful for these men and the many other service members out there who have served our country so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have in America.

A very special thank you to all who came out and bought books through our book fair this week! With your purchases and support, our school was able to get $1,700 worth of books to add to our elementary library!

WOLVERINE NATION: Reminder that Tuesday, Nov. 2nd is the day to vote for school board members.

The River Valley Elementary School will be holding its Fall Book Fair Tuesday, November 2 through Thursday, November 4. It will open for students and parents from 8:00-8:40 am each of those mornings.
The Book Fair is a fundraiser that provides new books for our elementary school library. We will once again be using Scholastic Book Fairs, as we have been pleased with the prices and selection in the past.
Students were sent home with a flyer that lists a sampling of books available at the fair. Also, if your child would like to buy a book to donate to his/her classroom library, there are book plates available to fill out, place in book, and present to the teacher. This helps build both the classroom and school libraries.
If you are sending a check, it should be made out to River Valley Community School. Also, DO NOT include sales tax.
Thank you!

The elementary school will be celebrating Halloween this Thursday, during the afternoon between lunch and our early out. Stay tuned to hear from your child's classroom teachers for more details on the classroom parties.
WOLVERINE NATION: Remember that next week we have our P/T Conferences! Please make plans to attend. The conference times are on Tuesday, Oct. 26 and Thursday Oct. 28 from 4:00-7:30.
