Congratulations to Colton Johnson for qualifying for the Boy's District Golf Meet in Fort Dodge on Friday, May 21st. Colton finished in 4th place at sectionals after shooting an 80 at the Newell Golf Course.

On Friday, Iowa schools were sent new guidance documents. In summary, they recommend that schools lift the mask requirement. River Valley Schools will follow the guidance and remove the mask requirement immediately. Masks are no longer required in school buildings, at school events, or on district transportation. Students, staff, and community members who wish to continue to wear masks will be fully supported, but this will be a personal choice. As a result of this guidance, students who are exposed to positive COVID-19 cases are no longer required to quarantine. Only those who test positive will be required to isolate per the new guidance. We thank the River Valley community for your support over the course of this unprecedented year.

Congratulations to Natalie Schlenger on her performance at the Junior High WVC track meet. She won the 200, 400, and 200m hurdles. She also set new meet records in the 200 and 200m hurdles.

AUGUST DRIVERS ED: There will be a Drivers Ed Class offered by Deluxe Driving Academy in August here at River Valley. If your child will be 14 by then and will have obtained their learners permit before the first day of class on Aug. 3rd, they are eligible to take the class. Your child may sign up in the JH/HS office. Please sign up ASAP so we know if we will have enough to have the class. Please call Marlo at (712)372-4656 ext. 1221 with any questions.
FINE ARTS AWARDS will be held tomorrow night, Thursday, May 13th, at 7:00pm in the high school auditorium. We will honor this year's High School band and choir students, along with our Speech and Drama students. Everyone is invited to come. Reminder to students: bring a door prize and you can take a door prize home.
