On behalf of all of us at RV Elementary, I want send out a huge "Thank you" to Alice Volkert. At a spry 99 years old, Alice spends her time knitting hats and mittens for our RV Elementary students. She has done this for several years and we love her for it. Thank you Alice!

Last week, RV Elementary kicked off November by celebrating our KDT winners and of course, our November birthday students. Tough to beat all those smiling faces:)

The cooks at the HS/MS went all out for Halloween today! Be sure to thank the cooks. They do a great deal of work and usually go unnoticed and underappreciated.

River Valley will be sending a Pep-Bus to tomorrows Regional Final Volleyball Game in Orange City at MOC-Floyd Valley High School. This is for grades 6-12 only. In order to be admitted on to the bus, the River Valley 6-12 student must show proof of a purchased ticket (a printed off ticket with QR code or they may show the digital ticket). The ticket cost is $6.90. The River Valley Athletic Boosters are offering to reimburse students $5 per ticket if they ride up on the pep bus! The bus will leave Correctionville at 5:40 and be getting up to Orange City by 6:45, in time for the 7:00 PM start time. After the game is complete, the students will ride back on the bus to Correctionville. Students interested in this need to sign-up in the office tomorrow by 3:30 PM.
Attention Elementary Parents:
With the All School Pep Rally tomorrow for our varsity volleyball team, our departure and parent pick-ups for grades Prek-5 will look differently.
All busses will depart from the MS/HS tomorrow at approximately 3:25 PM and parent pick-up will start at 3:30. We ask that any parent picking up their child will need to come in the main entrance of the MS/HS.
Washta Walkers will be bussed back to Washta and then be escorted home.
Please have any bus changes into the elementary office no later than 1 PM. If we do not have a change of bussing notification, we will assume that your child goes home on their regular bus route.
Have a great night!
Thank you to all the donors at the NHS blood drive last Wednesday!

First Grade Fun
The first grade had a whole lot of fun last week. They had Flashlight Friday with second grade. They worked as a team to organize numbers in order. After learning about bus and fire safety the first students made headbands about how we can be safe on a bus. Then they grew caterpillars into butterflies and then released them. Finally, they looked through a magnifying glass at a butterfly wing. Lots learning done in a very fun way!

Last Friday, our RV preschool held their Family Fun Night. The preschoolers and their parents enjoyed some treats and some time carving and decorating pumpkins. There was no shortage of smiles or empty stomachs! Thank you to Mrs. Nicolls and our wonderful preschool staff for putting on such a cool event!

Early this month our RV preschool was treated to a fire truck ride and tour of the Washta Fire Hall. By the sounds of it, our littles have a grand old time!
Thank you to the Washta Volunteer Fire Department for hospitable and teaching our youngest students a bit more about fire safety!

Get your tickets to watch your Lady River Valley Wolverines take on Boyden-Hull tomorrow night in Orange City, for a spot in the state tournament! WE NEED YOU THERE!
