PARENTS: An email was just resent with the Conditions for Learning Survey through the state of Iowa. In this email, there is explanation of what this survey is and why it's valuable (and anonymous) input that helps River Valley becomes a safer and better school for our students! This email was sent to all students legal guardians that have an email registered in PowerSchool.

This past Friday, RV's fourth and fifth graders took a short trip to Correctionville and the Assisted Living Center. Through "Project Jack", classroom teachers and students created gift baskets for the residents and also spent time talking and getting to know each other. What a positive experience for all involved!

It's a great day for outdoor art class!

Last week RV Elementary kicked off Easter weekend with a visit from Mrs. Koskovich and RV High School FFA. They were gracious enough to spend some time with the entire elementary, teaching the the elementary students lesson about agriculture, had some craft time, and played some fun games. The Easter Bunny even stopped by to pay a visit! It was an educational and fun filled morning. We are very thankful that the "Big Kids" payed us a visit:).

Squid dissection day in Mr. Persinger's biology class!

During our March Madness Battle of the Books Challenge, all the students filled out their own brackets on what book would ultimately win the challenge. In the end, we had a few lucky students that guessed correctly. What I mean by lucky is that they were "lucky" enough to have Pizza with the Principal. The lucky students were: Kent W., Drake C., Nolan V., Jacob H., Quinn E., and Anna S. (Not pictured). It was a great time with some wonderful conversation.

Yesterday at our RV Elementary April Lift-off Mrs. Reinking announced our donation totals for Kid's Heart Challenge. RV Elementary raised almost $4,000! The top three donation getters were: Stella L., Ivy T., and Bryson R. They were given the honor of cutting off my tie:). I think all the students, even those in the audience, enjoyed it. I going to really miss that tie:(

Here is some important information about tomorrow night's RV 4-6 Spring Vocal/Band Concert.

This morning (April 11), we held our April "Lift-off". A couple of the the items we announced included April birthdays and our April KDT drawing winners. It is always a great way to get our day started!
