Attention River Valley Sports Fans,
Due to a combination of things, the River Valley JV BBB game versus MVAOCOU has been cancelled. The varsity GBB game versus MVAOCOU has been moved up to a 6 PM start.
We apologize for the late notice, but hope to see you there.

Good Morning River Valley,
This post is a spin-off of our recent one on the Shoe Party. We are so proud of our kiddos and their thoughts of giving and their eagerness to help out. Mrs Witt played a big role in orchestrating the event below. This just beams "The Spirit of Giving". Enjoy the read:)
This holiday season, River Valley's 7th grade English class has been reading "A Christmas Carol." From the beginning, they decided to sponsor a "Who is the Most UNSCROOGIEST Class of All" at River Valley High School. All MS/HS classes participated in the contest. Posters and fliers were made to advertise the contest, and the 7th graders decided to do the event in honor of Mr. Don Parrott. A total of $654 dollars was raised during the two week event! The 6th graders raised the most with the 7th grade coming in second. With some of the money raised, our River Valley National Honor Society students went out and purchased a toy for each Shoe Party kiddo this year. The remaining amount was donated to Nancy Parrott and the Shoe Party.

Tonight the Wolverines take on MVAOCOU! If you can't make it in person, here is the link.

Last week, River Valley Elementary was fortunate to partake in Washta's annual Shoe Party. With the help of the Parrott Family, River Valley's High School National Honors Society students, River Valley's High School Student Council, and countless Washta Church of faith congregation, many student from the elementary are able to receive a pair of new shoes and many other items including: hats, gloves, and school supplies).
Don and Nancy Parrot started the Shoe Party 15 years ago and to date have given away approximately 1,200 pairs of shoes and many other needed items to our area's youth! What an unbelievable example of the "Spirit of Giving". Thank you Nancy, the Parrott family, the congregation of the Washta Church of Faith, and our HS student helpers for all their help and generosity! River Valley Elementary is forever thankful!
