Yesterday, River Valley Elementary celebrated "World Kindness Day". Teachers and students played "Kindness Bingo" throughout the day in their classrooms. Students were often seen performing many random acts of kindness . During their guidance lessons, Ms. Geary expanded on why it's important to be kind. The students and staff did a wonderful job continuing to display River Valley KDT (Kindness, Determination, Together) during WKD. It was so heart warming and awesome to see all the blue shirts, positive/kind behavior, and camaraderie. It was such a great day:)

Yesterday, River Valley Elementary did its best to show its appreciation to our veterans and active duty personnel. We had some guest readers from grades 3-5, a powerful video, and some awesome singing by our K-5 students.
Though it was a short and sweet program, we hope our veterans and active duty personnel understand how much we appreciate their service:)
Thank you to Mrs. Reginnitter for all her help decorating and Ms. Rau for having the K-5 music classes perform. It looked great and sounded great!!

Thank you to our guest speaker today, Myles McCrea! We also greatly appreciate the four local communities providing us with their color guards. The student council, band and choir students all did a great job participating in this morning's program. To each and everyone who have served/are serving, we Thank You.

World Kindness Day Reminder,
River Valley School District will be observing "World Kindness Day" on Wednesday, November 13. If you ordered a World Kindness Day t-shirt for your child, they will be handed out to bring home on Monday or Tuesday of next week. Please have your child wear their t-shirt on Wednesday, November 13th. If your child did not order a World Kindness Day t-shirt, if at all possible, have them wear a "light blue" shirt on that Wednesday.
The River Valley Elementary will also be doing a ONE day canned food drive on Wednesday, November 13th. If you could send one canned food item with your elementary child on that Wednesday, that would be very kind. All canned food items will go to help support area families in need.

Yesterday, the River Valley 2nd graders got together to read the book, "Just Like Caitlin", The book tells the story of Caitlin Clark's life and also some important lessons of dreaming big and working hard. In addition, the students did some activities and learned even more things about Caitlin Clark and her rise to the WNBA.
The Jensen family gifted all 2nd graders in the state of Iowa her book. River Valley was also given a copy to place in their school library.
What an awesome gift and story to share!

Have a great weekend!

Last week, six members of the RV FFA joined more than 70,000 FFA members, advisors, and guests from across the country at the 97th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis. The National FFA Convention is the largest annual youth organization gathering in the nation.
One of our FFA members, Andrea was honored to be selected as a National FFA Band Member and got to experience a different side of Convention than other members. Her experience was full of rehearsal, performances, and making close connections with FFA members from across the country.
Other members Tate, Cory, Kaylyn, Karlee, Brady, and Miss Gibson traveled together and had a fun-filled week. They attended the Convention and Expo for two days and experienced motivational sessions, workshops, an engaging career and college fair, met hundreds of other members, shopping malls, and downtown Indianapolis. FFA’s main message this year is to “Engage”. Students learned to engage in laughter, empathy, conversation, school, and every aspect of their life! Their week also consisted of many educational tours including Caterpillar Track Type Tractor Assembly Line, Lincoln Tech Campus, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Churchill Downs, Louisville Slugger, and Harvest Home Dairy. They also had fun cooking meals in a house together, attending a rodeo, going go karting, and axe throwing.

The middle school and high school also had a pep rally at the end of the day to celebrate our Volleyball girls!! Good luck tonight ladies!!!

This morning our Volleyball team and Pep Band went to the elementary for a pep rally and high fives!! What a great way to start our day!!

If you can't join us at Webster City High School, 1001 Lynx Ave tonight, here is the link to watch from home. You still have to cheer loudly for the Lady Wolverines!
